Texasflag4 Rockport

Im going to Rockport this Friday-Sunday. I will be taking my boat. I am interested in spots in St. Charles bay to fish. Has anyone been doing any good down there lately. I will probably try the Cavasso Shoreline but i will be there 3 days and I am interested in some new Hotspots.

St. Charles bay has been endowed with a lot of fresh water. Putting in at GISP and making the run is exactly what I found last week. Course it may be out by now but I doubt it.

fished rockport this past saturday and sunday. Water was WAY off color due to all the runoff they had the previous week. Did not find a whole lot of bait working either. Catching fish was a real grind. Did manage several trout 16-20" and a few reds. All in all, it was just a weekend of running the boat and punching in new GPS coordinates. Water was supposed to be up, when, in fact, it was down about 8 inches or more. Made locating some of the reefs extremely easy.

Good luck this weekend. Best i could tell you would be to look for the better water and for active bait.

St. Charles is way too fresh and I wouldn't bother. Work some of the shorelines, back lakes and reefs in Aransas Bay.
