I am taking my skiff to AP tomorrow. I plan on going to Brown and roots and fishing either Southbay or getting into the Lighthouse lakes. Can anyone recommend a boat boat launch near these places? thanks, Jeremy
The public ramp in Conn Brown Harbor is a good one. It's well patrolled by law enforcement, and probably safer from theft than most other ramps. Usually adequate parking too. It's just a few miles down the Shrimp Boat Channel to Lighthouse Lakes and Brown & Root. Several bait shops nearby too.
I would agree with this launch location. Quality ramps and lots of parking. Tucked back into the harbor enough to protect from most wind directions. www.solarscreenguys.com
Conn Brown has good ramps as well as Hampton's landing. IF tarpon shores is still open you can launch there and it'll be a closer run to where you're wanting to go
If your going to fish B&R then launch at the public ramp on Ransom rd or Hamptons. If your going to fish SB or LL launch at Conn Brown. Or either will work for either. All three nice ramps. Good Burgers and cold beer at Mickey's
I’ve used the ramp near Hamptons for launching both my boat and Kayak and never had any problems. Nice ramp, nice parking and patrolled pretty regularly.
Conn Brown or Hampton's are both good ramps. I have had problems at Tarpon Shores if it is very windy. Entering the ramp is not very wide. The winds have blown me sideways into the pier and I tend to miss my trailer's sweet spot, so quit using it.
The wind just gives my aluminum boat fits when trying to load. However it is closer to South Bay.
