Hey I am going to the surfside/freeport harbor fishing jetty later this week. I see that everyone is saying to use a popping cork. I was wondering if there was a way to make your own. Also if you do have to buy one about how much do they cost? Any other tips would be appreciated
Yes, that's the price... but you can make your own for about $25 plus $25 in gas to run around to craft stores and order stuff on line. Granted if you already have stuff or old popping corks it might be a little easier.
It's really the sound of the pop, and any click added is just gravy.
Wire or heavy flouro, an old foam float with some sort of plastic hollow insert, wire crimps. plastic rattels, ... and shrim or gulp on the end and you're good. LOL.
have fun, it might be more espensive, but it's really fun to make stuff. Consider getting a kid involved and do it together.
I agree. They are the only corks that are used on my boat.
