is there any more news on the galveston fishing piers efforts to rebuild. as much as we love the fishing in corpus area it is the 4 hours trips which get me. will be so glad when the pier comes back in galveston.
Ever looked into seawolf in the meantime? You have to pay, just like the pier. It gets crowded at times, but there are some good fish caught there. I caught my first trout there when I was little. Lots of flounder right now.
On previous threads it was mentioned that wheeled vehicles to carry your gear were not allowed on the 61st pier. Doe anyone know if this is true? If so, to heck with them. Any other restrictions?
The 89 st. pier seems at a standstill. I pass it every day and besides the guard rails mentioned and maybe debris removed, I haven't noticed much progress.......probably just need to pay the mordida!
I was there last week and fished the remains of the old pier and caught some nice whiting , sheepies and drum. Looked like little or no progress on the construction. I had the spot all to myself unlike when the pier was standing. The last time I visited the pier in 08, the crowd was large and inconsiderate, so it doesn't bother me.
