    John,

I bought a Garmin Combo System from you a few years back and it worked great. I have recently bought a new to me boat (28' Newton). It has some older electronics (Ray Radar, Teleflex Auto Pilot, etc). I need to get a bottom machine and GPS combo and maybe some guidance on the Radar System and Auto Pilot. Can you help me out on this? We plan on venturing out to the Floaters and Intersection this year and need the electronics to get the job done. We will be needing something pretty soon, the fiberglass work is almost done and electronics is next on the list. Thx John.

john, I am looking for someone to help with a garmin 3210 power cord replacement. Do you do installs or can you recomend someone to help me with this. I am in the lake jackson area but can take the boat to houston if you have someone good and trustworthy. Would also like to have the wiring cleaned up a little. the previous owner of my boat kind of made a mess of all the wiring.

    Thanks

Hey Capt John, I was wondering if you could help me out. I'm looking at the JBL MBB (Marine Black Box) units for my boat. They're all 4x45W. I was wondering if these units safe to run bridged to power only two speakers. I ordered two Inifinity Marine 6x9's (100W RMS/ 300W MAX a piece) for my boat. Should I just go ahead and order an amp to get the most out of these speakers or will the JBL unit be enough to power them?

    Capt John,
I am looking at a Lowrance HDS-7 Insight USA Fishfinder/Chartplotter with 50/200 kHz Transducer

My question is, for fishing in lakes, should I get the 50/200 or the 83/200, The depth of the lakes in Texas it seems in not more than 50 feet.

The price I am looking at is around 1200. I mainly fish for catfish and crappie. I also wanted a unit with a good GPS.

Is this a good move. or do you suggest something different.

Thanks for your time and have a awesome day!

    Blessed and highly favored

Hi Capt John .... I assume you are the one that is at Angler Products. Many mention you as the expert voice regarding GPS that I thought I'd ask you about my situation. I've got a Garmin 182C that is giving me issues. I have ordered a Garmin 541s to replace it. How do I go about transfering my waypoints from the 182 to the 541? Thanks for your assistance. You may email me direct at CticRon@aol.com with a response if you would. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi Capt John, Ive been doing a bit of research on here and everyone seems to difer to you when it comes to depth finders. I am running a 18ft center console duracraft and I want to install a depth finder that will work in shallow water and deeper water, I typically fish in less than four feet of water and do both fresh and saltwater fishing. I am not opposed to a dual unit, I do like the idea of a gps onboard, but ultimately the depth finder being accurate is my biggest concern. Thank you for your time, and advice

OK, thanks for your help. I think I am just going to stick with this unit for now. Maybe upgrade a few years down the road.

P.S. my boat runs about 50 wide open so if that's the case, which unit would be better?

I found the 440, of all places, bass pro shop. I was a little unsure of buying it just because I know it is a little out of date, but I got it pretty cheap($450). I am on a tight budget anyway so I decided to go ahead and get it. Why would you say that the GPS is not suitable for a boat over 30 MPH? I am really just getting into the boating world and really don't have a clue about GPS's, I had no idea speed mattered? I was looking at the 545s like you suggest, but it was a little high, or at least where I was looking. How much do you sell them for? I have 30 days to return it and it's not out of the box yet, was there last one and figured I better get it. You were also telling me about the g2 charts, so basically you pay $300+ just for a better picture?

I would like some help on choosing the right Garmin GPS that suits me. I have ran across what i think is a good deal and wanted to know your thoughts on the 440s and whether it's worth the extra money to get something a little better or not? What others would be suitable within price range that you offer? you can pm me

I take it from some of the posts I have read that you sell the Lowrance GPS units. I have a HDS7 with base map. I bought it intending to get the navionics Platinum +. Do you sell this, and if so, what is the price? I'm in San Antonio. I'm not necessarily shopping lowest price, I'd like to support a fellow 2cooler, and also looking for local support. However, as I have been putting a new floor in my boat and having to rebuild everything mechanical as well, I do have to watch my costs. Let me know! Ed
