I know most bully breeds have some kind of skin issues during their life. My bullmastiff has been suffering from a yeast infection which I treated with a 2 week course of ketaconazol and some homeopathic supplements. He is getting much better now.

My question is weather or not any of you use probiotics/antioxidant supplements with your dogs. The reading I've done suggests that most skin problems in dogs that are diagnosed as allergies are more often than not really caused by systemic yeast infections which in turn exhibit allergic symptoms. I've been using products called nzymes (along with a high quality balanced diet)and so far have been very happy with the results. The food I use is (Precise holistic large/giant breed puppy formula) is manufactured in Nacagdoches. It is a high quality food if anyone is looking to switch.

Nupro Gold ... My wife found this product years ago to give to our Lab Groucho. When she got older she started having skin allergys and hot spots. Nupro gold not only worked for her we gave it to Muggs our Neapolitan Mastiff all her life too and now give it to Gracie and Mr. Biggy Fry. Big ( the bug dog ) has a small hot spot on his neck caused by the caller and dog tags that we recently replaced and he too has allergies which require a Benadryl every once in a while but that's it and he almost all black and shines. Gracie has no skin problems at this time, and she too shines. Both have coats which they always get comments on when we take them on road trips to Petsmart or Petco.

Oh Yah. .... Food .... Muggs ate 1 can alpo per day her entire life ( she lived to 11 ). She was spoon fed. The 2 we have now share a can of wellness dog food and a half a cup of bil•Jac (1/4 cop each ) per day and get Milo's Kitchen treats. Both are Wheat intolerant and trial foods proved that so they had all food with grains cut out of their diet. We buy Nupro gold online from Cares A Lot. I hope this too helps. We rarely give these dogs a bath and surprise they don't smell, also both are inside dogs as were the Big Dogs we use to have
