As most of you probably know my Stix is very special to me. It's not the most detailed, intricate, or the best of the super custom work that Billy does but it was made for me and helped me through a difficult period. Who would have thought that a "fishin pole" could make a difference in a man's life like this one did. We all are faced with challenges in life at one time or another, I am one of the millions who have to deal with cancer and am one of the fortunate people who are doing well. I use my Stix as a tool to heal the mind not the body. My Stix has never let me down, always been there through the thick & the thin, suffered through a run in with a truck door, landed a 35" Red, helped a Grandkid land her first fish, its the first pole on the boat and the last off. Some people may think that the above paragraph is kinda lame but THAT is what my BillyStiX means to me.

what more can i as a rod builder ever hope to excel in any custom rod that i have not gotten from this custom rod that i built?????
i have reached the pincel of custom rod building, please guy's help me on this one, it truly mean's a lot.

Spotted, I can't find anything "lame" about that story. It was awesome. You have found therapy in that rod. Therapy for your mind. These rods are not "just" custom rods. Billy insists that he talks with the potential customer and together they develop the rod on paper. He then takes over and creates a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for that individual customer that functions superbly. Billy wants you to go out and create memories with his rods and Spotted, you are doing him great justice.

well since fishing is what keeps me plugging through life and since billys rods are all i fish with and fufilled a life long dream i get where your coming from. if it was not for the love of fishing i would not know the important things in life fishing is therapy for me. if it was not for fishing i would prolly be dead in a ditch some where. so no story like yours could ever be labeled as lame.
