I have my pictures stored on CD's. I can't open one of them. I tried repeatedly and then took a close look at the CD. There appears to be a small stain (almost like a water stain) on the inner ring. It's relatively small...maybe an 1/8" long by 1/8" high, however, when you insert the disk it just "grunts, clicks, whirs" but nerve opens. I am assuming that "stain" is the culprit. The question...can it be open somehow...boy I have a lot of pictures on that disk!
Check the format first, make sure it's a jpeg ect
You might be able to have it "buffed" out as a last resort, "The Movie Shack" down the road from me does it for a few bucks, you can also buy one at Walmart or electronics store.
Clean your cd-rom, I do mine every few months and it will read better after.

Try inserting the CD and then imediately hold down the shift key. ( I use the left SHIFT to keep the filter keys from opening if you hold down the right SHIFT too long.) This keeps the CD form opening automatically. Then go to my computer and right click on your CD drive letter and then click explore. Maybe it will open so you can at least copy your picture files to the Harddrive and open them. Seems like I remember that CD drvies record from the outside in.
