Hey Catfish, wakeups right. Just don't buy 'em anymore. Look through this forum for tips. Alot of guys in here quit using the patch or nic gum. Just make up your mind your gunna' do it and sign in every morning at roll call. Might as well quit today.

Well,,,first it has to come from the heart. We were all addicted and decided enough was enough for one reason or another. If you are commited to quit it can be done. Since you are writing here I feel that your are ready to try it. I dipped snuff, today was my 45th day without. You have come to the right place for support and some former smokers are going to help you all they can. I make a point not to let these guys down. Every morning I sign in and say I am tobacco free. Funny, I don't even know any of these guys. My two cents, finish the last pack, throw away your ashtrays, buy some gum and stay strong. You can quit.
Good luck

Well said jig. None of us know each other but I always look forward to seeing everyone's name each morning and it helps me to realize we're all in the same boat. You don't let me down and I won't let you down.

Harry, You CAN do it if you really WANT to. I was smoking two to three packs a day. A chain smoking stress monster, I was! I had been thinking about quitting for a long time. I made all the same old excuses everybody else does. This little forum popped up at just the right time I guess. I read all the fuss about patches, gum, seeds, etc. but decided that the only way for me was to just commit and quit. Walking Jack's writings created a huge visual (negative) in my head and another member wrote something about chastising himself when he felt weak. Something like, "you weakling, gonna let that little cigarette control you?". Those are just a couple of posts I remember. I got myself good and prayed up for a few days, set a date and QUIT. I'll admit, it was pretty weird at first. It's also true that I still think about it from time to time. The difference is, I dont act on those impulses anymore. I'm going on two months now and I feel pretty darned good. My house, car and clothes dont stink and I have a little more change in my pockets. Good luck to ya Bro. You're a good man. You owe it to yourself and kiddos to give this a go! Call me if you need an ear. Tight lines, Guy

Harry, good job brother. Welcome to the group. Roll call is simply a way to help yourself quit for that day. We take it one day at a time. Every morning sign in under the "roll call" thread that has that day on it. Cut the previous post, paste, and add your name with the days you have quit. Tomorrow you will be on day 1. By signing roll call you are letting us know that you will not use tobacco that day. I cannot speak for everybody, but I had a twenty one year can a day copenhagen habit. Once you get past a couple weeks, your cravings get a lot more manageable. Like Jig said, post in here and feel free to rant and rave. Just don't smoke. Your body will thank you very shortly and you will feel better than you have in years I guarantee it.

No shame! Just start over. Think about how many folks read and dont post here. I'm pretty sure that not everybody gets it right the first time. You can do it. When you get to "that" place in your head,.....you WILL do it! Happy Thanksgiving Bro, Guyhooked up.....i got your pm, i'll start tommorrow, i screwed up!!!! i bow my head in shame, sorry fellas.
