IMHO I think Michigan should get another shot. The buildup to them playing again so soon would be awesome! The only thing would be if Mich should win would they split as nat'l champions? How about USC? Arkansas? Boise (LOL)?

Boise.....haha
USC, if they win out will probably get in
SEC Champ might get a shot
I would rather see Arkansas or Florida but my feeling is that USC gets in.

I was against a second shot for Mich until yesterday. Mich is better than any of the others so I am now on board.

Michigan had their shot. SEC champ, USC or even Notre Dame should get the next shot. I would like to see Boise State in a BCS game to see the outcome, not the championship game of course.
It would be hard to put a team that didnt even win their conference in the national championship game. Unfortunately I think Michigan is still the 2nd best team in the nation but they won't get another shot at OSU. I bet if USC wins out they will be playing for the national championship.

Michigan still #2 in the BCS.

Michigan cannot hold its current #2 in the BCS. USC, Florida, and Arkansas all control their own destiny not to mention the Irish. Any of those teams winning out will increase their BCS SOS number and pass Michigan. Besides, November is playoff month in our current system, you have to win out in November to be a national champ or be eliminated and Michigan didn't win.
Personally, they need to take this Championship outside of just the Big 10. We know Michigan isn't the champ this year. Let someone else prove to be better than OSU.

With the way college football is currently decided...
I don't think it is fair for OSU to potentially lose the National Championship to a team they just beat a few weeks before. However, if there was a playoff system and it ended up OSU vs Michigan again... I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Any one out of Michigan, USC, ND or florida. I really do not care which one. If they all end up with one loss (with the exception of USC and ND) they will probably all be equally deserving. This would be a perfect year for the plus-1 format to have the top 4 teams square off in BCS bowls and have the winners play in the championship game. 8 or 16 team playoffs would not be necessary.
I think it will be USC when all of the smoke clears, and that will be due to computer rankings.

I wish the SEC champ could get a shot but I think OSU would drill Florida.
USC will move up if they beat ND and the OSU will beat them
The only problem is that OSU has to wait 50 days before their Bowl game which is stupid

if arkansas wins out, i would like to see them against osu. why you might ask? even though they lost to usc, this is not the same team. if they win out they would have beaten tenn., Lsu, and fla. toughest scheduled games at the end of the year.

I would love to see the Hogs get a shot, they are on a roll.
but I'm a LSU fan and they play Friday so I have to root for the Tigers

Arkansas or Florida should if they only have 1 loss and win the SEC.. I don't want to see a rematch. I think the SEC winner is the most proven to be worthy if they can go undefeated through the SEC.

In every other year, the National Championship is decided when the #1 team plays the #2 team. Why should this year be any different? Michigan has EARNED their shot, as has OSU. That being said, the game drove me nuts. Being born and raised a Buckeye (got here as quick as I could), I do not know if OSU can handle Michigan a second time around. But it sure would be fun to watch, again!

Michigan had their shot and didn't get it done. If USC wins out, they should be in.

Michigan will not be rated #2 in the BCS if USC wins the Notre Dame win. The schedule strength change in the computer rankings will put USC ahead. Ohio State has already beaten the likely B-12 champ (Texas) and the likely SEC champ (Arkansas). Ohio State has already shown they can beat Michigan. Unless they play a one-loss USC, there will be doubts as to whether they can beat USC. A replay of the Michigan and Ohio State game would be highly entertaining but unfair to Ohio State since they would be put in a situation of having to beat the same top 5 opponent twice.

Quite simply the very best argument against a OSU-Michigan rematch. If Michigan beats OSU, can the case be made for OSU still being the #1 team in the nation? Why not?

It's just plain stupidity that the championship game is 52 days from this past Saturday and OSU is done. How do you keep the kids sharp with a lay off like that

what is unfair is the pac10 and big 10 do not have a championship game. either they all have chapionship games are they all don't. i have to agree playing a team twice is not real fair. ex.if texas beats a&m, they will have to play nebraska, after already beating them. they will have to beat them twice in order to win the big12. nebraska only needs to win once.

Hypothetical - The 1 loss team gets in with OSU and beats them in a tight contest. Does that 1 loss team then automatically become national champ ?
This BCS system is badly broken and it gets worse with age.
