It's never too early to make a prediction for this game, especially since both teams lost. My feeling is that the TEXAS loss on Saturday could end up "scary" for A&M. I think TEXAS holds nothing back and wins easily.

Maybe that's why the horns choked on sat. to make the game against A&M in Nov....scary.....LOL. I wonder if that was part of Mack's pregame or halftime speech.

horns should win, by how much I don't know. Then they can be Texas College Football State Champs and then you guys can all get a shirt made for this year's season. See there's a silver lining after all.

"I think TEXAS holds nothing back and wins easily"

Shouldn't you have done that yesterday at Kstate?

I'll be realistic and say it's gonna be a close game with the Ags finally pulling off a last second win against a good opponent.

We'll keep Fran and ya'll keep your Def. Coordinator

C'mon you missed his first post.... by losing on Sat. they made the game in a couple of weeks "SCARY" for the Aggies. The horns would never let an opportunity to "SCARE" the Aggies slip by them.

Fran's going to finally figure out that when you have the ball on the 3, you don't think about it, you just give it to the big guy. It's going to be Aggies 28, TU 24.

If Fran doesn't figure that out. The Horns win in overtime 30 - 27.

Hook 'emI predict that you will never post anything other than plain old "jibber jabber".

Hold nothing back? I guess they were holding something back in the Nebraska and K-State game huh?

That is a senseless score prediction and it is obvious that absolutely no thought went into your post....just orange speculation.

It will be a close game and Texas will need to score "really big" in the first half. I don't expect a win, but I do think it is possible. We have more to gain, as usual, and will not be playing under the letdown of trying to keep our national title hopes alive. It's tough to swallow that we can control your Big 12 Championship hopes too and then it will be a toss up of who goes to the Cotton Bowl, which would probably be us if we defeat the sips. We can cause a much larger roll down hill if you are defeated on T+1. It is a false security if you believe that we can't bring the wood. I hope we bash teeth until the final second ticks off the clock and maybe this time we will be ahead by 1 freggin point.

Hold on to your "own scary thoughts". We have nothing to fear.

Capt. D, your defense has failed to show up in several games this year...ya'll were just fortunate to have the breaks go your way which is part of the game and the offense was capable of overcoming your defense. How can ya'll have a recruiting class ranked in the top 8 for the last 6 years straight and have a defense ranked 114th in passing?

Mac got credit for the national championship but lets face it....Vince Young was a stud college QB that made up for other weaknesses. That is a direct quote from my longhorn neighbor!

We got BEVO with his usual blowout, Capt. D, and now we just need 4x4tx to go ahead with his blowout prediction to finish of the usual but unrealistic predictions. For ya'll to think your defense will shut down our offense is a bit unrealistic. Go compare the stats between the Ags, OU, Neb. and horn games and you'll find our offense was capable of moving the ball. Also, I don't think (my opinion) there is a team in the conferernce that has had a defense as tough as ours in the second half so you better get all those points in the first half.

And remember it will absolutely suck for ya'll when we come to your house, beat you, and send OU to the Big 12 championship game...especially since we ain't no good in ya'll eyes.

Unfortunately for us we will not be able to explot UT's weakest point of their team: passing. We will, however, be able to run the ball well (just like every other game). I predict that UT will go up by 17-0 in the first quarter, followed by A&M coming back 17-14. The third quarter will see a stalemate. End of the first quarter UT will block and A&M punt. 24-14 UT. A&M will score two TD's in the 2nd half (60 yard run by goodson, long drive capped by a Lane rushing TD). 28-24 TAMU. 2:00 left on the clock, UT has the ball..........

Can we reverse the ying/yang in this game?

Maybe it's just me but if you change the name then no one is gonna really know who that person is. ie Seeing the ATM logo next to BEVO for the whole year ain't gonna be pretty. Seeing the ATM logo next to a new name is just a new member to 2cool. I mean, if portalto loses the bet and has to have a burnt orange avatar and changes her name to "longhorns rule" it is gonna be like a new user. Plus, I don't think you can change a name without getting Mont involved and he is busy enough that he doesn't need to mess with that.

Horns win because the aggies will insist on running the ball while getting no where. Meanwhile every time they do pass to that bigazz tight end they pickup 30-40 yards because Texas has no pass defense but Fran will insist on running the ball anyway. With the score 42-38 and 2:00 minutes remaing, A&M kicks a field goal from the 2 yard line to make it Horns 42 Ags 41 but they never get the ball back because Texas makes a first down on 4th and 3.

I would really like to see more of the die-hard aggs join in on this bet, and I'm referring to those of you with the class ring avatars, core references, and the like. This would make things much more entertaining for everyone.

Based upon our performance against you last year (with VY) I can’t understand why any of you would shy away from taking this bet. Common our QB is injured and our secondary rarely shows up to play. Lets see some of that Aggie bravado that you guys pride yourself on so much and step up to the plate. Would it really make you that sick to have to show your true burnt orange desires for a year?

I'm one of the Aggies that isn't blinded by the spirit. Don't get me wrong I want A&M to win as much as the spirited Aggies. But I don't think A&M has a very good chance of clipping the horns in Austin...but their chances obviously go up significantly if McCoy is out. Any news on that?

dennis_99
11-13-2006, 04:42 PM
I tend to agree with spec, we don't fair too well against the horns and it will be tough to win in Austin (with or without Colt, as Snead is really good as well). However, we had a chance last year (eventhough it was at home) as we only lost to the BCS National Champs by two scores...

I say horns 35, Ags 31. Fran decides to take the safe 3 and kick a FG from the 3yd line with 5 minutes left in the ball game and maybe have the opportunity to get the ball back two more times to kick two FGs for the win. That Fran, he's a man on a mission (unfortunately its a mission to get our kicker and his sock some airtime since he kicks barefoot).

Probably for the same reason earlier this some of wanted to bet yall when you were predicting us to lose by 14, 17 or worse when we played Oklahoma, tech to name a few. I was willing to bet any horn fan any amount of money they wanted or a fully paid weekend guided trip with Danny Neu.You guys talked a lot of smack but then did not really want to put any money on it when it counted. Under different circumstances, A & M might have a chance. But the only way Texas can go to a BCS bowl is by beating them and winning the Big 12 Championship. Texas will be very focused to do that. The bad thing is A & M knows how to beat Texas (throw long) but they cannot do it. I have not seen A&M throw a pass longer than about 5 yards all season. Texas wins by at least two touchdowns.

That's interesting on the score...I am picking the Ags 31-27...Everything is setting up just like it did my freshman year back in 1984! No one gave us a chance, there was a coaching controversy, we were 5-5 and went to Austin and won 37-12. It was the start of the pendelum in ATM's favor for basically the next 11-12 years. It's eery how similar these two games are!

I told my family and in-laws last night if the game ever gets moved backed to Thanksgiving night that we better be eating early or they will see me the next day after the game every other year.

the other thing that needs to come back is bonfire on campus in a big way but done the right way. then everything would be allright with me around thanksgiving. All the lawsuits need to get settled so this can move forward

I'm quite suprised by the amount of horn's posting big scores, but it occurs to me that several of our fans here have never had the displeasure of losing to the aggies during their watch. A lot of those games have been lopsided too, so I guess it's conceivable.

I feel like the mistakes of the late 90's are getting resolved ( far behind in facilities, etc) and we are on the right track. I don't know if we can win in DKRTMMS@JJF but I feel that the game will be very close, hard fought. Watch Mike Goodson, our fish RB. He's already a star. Jorvorskie Lane is a bruiser, and we have some guys on D who ain't too shabby. We should be playing Texas for the South Div. championship tomorrow.

I hope the Big XII can be decided on T+1 every year. OU, and the rest of the Big 8 should not be a factor.

I was at Texas from 85-89 so I **** sure know what it's like to lose to the Aggies. I don't have a good feel for tomorrow, but I think the Horns win. Big. Of course I thought that a couple of weeks ago in Manhattan. I'll be at Sholtz's around 8am.

That sux, 20 seconds left and he has to get carried off by the cart. Hope all will be ok......

A&M played very well, except for that cheap shop on McCoy that led to the ejection. McCoy may or may not have been 100% but the Aggies definitely played the better game. Congratulations to them.

He raised his hand going off the field. Hopefully nothing more serious than a concussion. Which is bad enough.

Well played and a most enjoyable ending regarding the scoreboard.

Sorry about Colt and I hope that doesn't end up with one of those pinched nerve or spinal problems that could ruin a kids career. He has heart and I think he will be back. Mr. Heard just bought himself some serious pine for the bowl game and if I am not mistaken that is the second time he hit someone late like that this year. MOST UNCALLED FOR!

Hope this grows from here and becomes a toss up game as it should be every year. That way there will be no need to pay for an entire seat at the game because you will only need the edge!

MOST UNCALLED FOR...I couldn't agree more. It looked like a few of his teammates were giving him a much needed arse chewing on the sideline. Good for them!

I hope McCoy is okay. That kis is a heck of a player and is going to do some special things in the future.

All that said, the Aggs finally played the game I thought they could. Holding that Texas offense to 7 points on their own field is a heck of an accomplishment. Dare we even think it????

Could the Wrecking Crew be back?

I will never agree with late hits.

That being said, there were many other hits on McCoy today. McCoy was first hurt in the Kansas State game when Greg Davis called the QB sneaks. Mack Brown put him on the field today.

Great win for the Ags, today.

It has been a wonder why Coach Fran turned multiple programs around and had not yet done it with us. Having been close in every single game this year, and now winning over the MNCs in Austin, we are there now.

Hard fought game from the Sips.

The hit that put McCoy down was not the one I complained about. The one that sent him off on the cart was not a late hit by NCAA standards. Hopefully he is okay.

Good game for the good guys. For the 1st time in 4 yrs Fran outcoached a good staff and a hungry Aggie D made enough plays to bail out our very conservative offense.

I had to endure the game with my wife's whorn cousin, but for the first time (of many to come) in along time I get to watch him wear MY shirt for a day.

It's never too early to make a prediction for this game, especially since both teams lost. My feeling is that the TEXAS loss on Saturday could end up "scary" for A&M. I think TEXAS holds nothing back and wins easily.

It's scary allright...we ran the ball right down your number 1 defenses throat!!! I guess now your gonna tell us that ya'll are the best 9-3 team in the country!! I don't wanna hear no more **** from ya'll about choking....All we heard was how ya'll could have played for the national championship again and now probably won't even be playing for the big 12 south championship after losing 2 weeks in a row to teams with lesser talent...Go OU!!! The AGS beat the horns and send OU to the Big 12 championship game.

OH man I forgot about the "scary" post....LOL....this guy will be hard pressed to show his face around here. A&M looked like they were running scared all day....to the tune of 240 yds or so. Oh yeah and a WIN.

"Hold on to "your own scary thoughts" we have nothing to fear." Posted that on page 2 and no replies until now. He avoided it then.

From the statesman:

quote:

Longhorn quarterback Colt McCoy left Brackenridge Hospital under his own power at about 6:40 p.m. Friday.

He had been taken to the hospital for X-rays and observation after landing hard on the turf in the final seconds of the 12-7 loss to Texas A&M. It was unclear what McCoy may have injured.

At the hospital, workers and patients applauded as McCoy walked out with his family.

Good to hear he is OK and mobile under his own power. Relax with the late hit comments fellas. We all know it was a bad hit and there is no denying it was UNCALLED FOR.

The kid was off on his throws before that hit and the coaches made the decision to leave him in.

Colt doesn't play defense and this was a solid win that was accomplished on every inch of DKR. Good win fellas!

Gotta get em in where we can, wins that is. Crazy stuff happening in football this year. Colt was not 1oo% and never should have started, especially against the ags. They were real worried about the game or they would not have tried to force it with colt. But, then again, with such a highly recruited backup that sucks so bad, they would have been in the same boat. Good straightforward game, with a few bad calls or questionable at best, but it was in tu's backyard and I doubt the ref's were even close to leaning towards college station. No excuses, take your wounds and move on to next year. Heck they almost lost last year, I saw this one coming if colt was not 100%.

okay aggies, you best bring your white hankies to austin. you will need them to wipe the tears from your eyes. lol they will not be tears of joy, unless you like the fact that it will be frans last game to coach as an aggie. our defense played like **** against k-state. and we still had a chance. the horns will be ready!
