Okay, now that the mighty Cardinals have lost, what does that do to the BCS?
My Longhorns now have about a 50% chance of defending IF they win out over Kstate,Aggies, and probably Nebraska.
Here is where I am stuck. Let's say Michigan or Ohio State loses to the other in a close game. I am thinking that the BCS may want a rematch of that game for the MNC game as opposed to Texas or Florida.
What do you guys think?

I think...
UT runs the table.
OSU beats Michigan and runs the table.
FL is going to loose in the SEC Championship game.
LSU beats Arkansas
UT and OSU in the National Championship

I hope that is the case, I would love another shot at OSU. I don't know if UT will win but I think it would make for a great game.

Hook'emThe Horns have come a long way since that 1st game against OSU. A rematch would be awsome.

Yall's biggest obstacle to overcome unfortunately is playing in a weak big 12 this year. It is a catch 22 for yall. You need us to beat Nebraska this weekend to make the game with yall a little more entertaining from the public perspective, but then to turn around and play a nebraska team that would have 4 losses if that happened in the Big 12 title game would do you no good.
But at least a few things that had to happen for you to have a chance have started to happen. Only time will tell in the next couple of weeks. I still hope that there would be a ton of 1 loss teams so the "bigwigs" that came up with this stupid system would look even more foolish. Every year they fall back on "well the systm worked because we got the 2 best teams supposedly in it. We either need that or a year where there are 3 or 4 undefeateds. I know it doesn't happen often but one day it will.

Even Kirk and Chris said last night during the game that it is obvious the BCS is flawed and something needs to be done! It will happen in time...just hope it's my lifetime!!

I really think that it will be either Auburn or Florida in the championship game. At least, that is if both teams win out in the regular season. KSU and aTm are not ranked high enough for Texas to leapfrog the two SEC schools and beating Nebraska again will not help much in the grand scheme of things. Of course, the odds are much better now that Louisville was exposed last night.

For the Horns to leapfrog Auburn, they'd have to go backwards:

I personally would love to see Texas get another shot at OSU, now that Colt has matured it would be a different game and game plan

Big time questions remain about how the SEC and Big 10 play out and how it will impact standings....computer AND human. There is a lot of football yet to be played before the BCS champ game is set. If Horns win out and look good, the rest will take care of itself. I think we'll do our part. I just hope we aren't robbed by those stinkin' computers.

I said it once and I'll say it again. Win and things will fall into place. We're TEXAS for godsakes :)!

Neckdeep. I was working off of some fuzzy logic, but my point was based on an assumption that Auburn would be ahead of Texas if they win out then beat Florida in the SEC championship. FWIW, Texas is better than all of the other teams vying for the spot in my opinion.

You are right. Auburn, Florida and Texas are within a whisker of each other in BCS points, so anything can happen. It'll be even tighter when Big 10 is decided and the loser tied with everyone else. Whoever wins out should have a good chance at getting a shot though. That would be Texas.

Florida plays western kentucky here soon..that will drop their SOS a bunch considering WKU is a 1-AA school and is a bad one at that....I think as long as USC doesnt win out Texas is in..and I think a lot of people would like to see a rematch of OSU vs UT.
Things are looking good and falling into place.
