Today I decided to make the appointment to see a Doc. What questions do I need to ask? I will be there tomorrow at 3:00 PM to find out what Im getting myself into. I have tried the patch, but found myself just wanting to roll it up and smoke it. My chest, aswell as the rest of me is just sick of all the related smoking crapp.
Thanks for any help, just dont know if it works or what questions to ask or side effects there are with these meds.

Don't know how it will affect you but my wife loves it when I used to take Zyban. She said I was the sweetest feller around then. Until it wore off.
You might need a sleeping aid, Lunesta, ambien, etc. It is possible it might change your moods, for better or worse.
Good luck.

Welbutrin and Zyban are the same exact meds. They effect your chemicals in your brain. Noreprineprin 'sp'? and saritonin 'sp'? levels in your brain. I hope Zyban helps you kick the habbit? It is good stuff from what I hear.

Well I missed my first appointmant due to a tankless water heater that needed an attitude adjustment and just didnt go to my apointment today cause I didnt figure $120 was worth seing an PA and not a doctor. Im gonna get a hold of an old school Doc so as that I can actually sit down and talk, not just have a PA BS me into somthing that "sounds good" to them. Thanks for the info and well wishes.

Hey Blue, get to the doctor. The quicker you start your quit the better. I am not saying your making excuses not to go, but I think you may have your priorities backwards. Just make an appointment and go. After that get back in here and start signing roll call.....we'll be here.

Zyban is generally not covered by most insurance companies where as Wellbutrin is covered even though they are the exact same drug. One is marketed for mental health (Wellbutrin) and the other for quitting smoking (Zyban). I asked my doctor for Wellbutrin to be placed on the prescription instead of Zyban in order to min cost. The drug is very expensive without coverage. Go figure.....for mental health your insurance will provide coverage but for the health of your lungs they wont....doesnt make sense.
BTW...follow the direction provided by your doctor and this stuff does work. Made me dizzy and a bit sick when I smoked. Took about 7 days for me to start feeling this way. This caused me to really cut down on smoking and eventually quit. I also made it easy for me to control the cravings.
