Richard Justice had a good article on Mario Williams' progress this morning.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/justice/4322104.html

It echos what a lot of us have been saying all along.

Good article. I wish we had taken Vince Young. I think that in the long run, he will be the best out of the 3. I am not in the least bit unhappy that we have Mario Williams. I was a little nervous the first couple of weeks, but he looks like an absolute beast. The scary thing is that he is going to get a whole lot better once he gets comfortable with a few more moves. I am very happy that Bush is in NO.

If I have said it once I've said it a thousand times....DEFENSE wins championships! Problem is that with too many sports fans they think that one draft pick or two will automatically make the difference between winning and losing. When that one pick doesn't make an IMMEDIATE DIFFERENCE they consider him a bust. You get to a point and as a coach they just have to ignore the criticism.

Texans should have taken Vince. The guy wins at every level. Last sunday was incredible.

Texans should have taken Vince. The guy wins at every level. Last sunday was incredible. The Giants helped him out a lot at the end of the game. His stats were very pedestrian for the first 3 quarters though, much like his previous games. However, he is showing progress, I think it will still be a couple more years before we know exactly how good he will be. I don't really think teams are game planning for him too much, but I could be wrong. To me he just doesn't pose a huge threat right now. The Titans offense is very erratic right now, and Vince goes as Travis Henry goes.

I am ok with the Williams pick, he has shown flashes that he will be a force on the d-line. He has been battling with a toe injury for most of the season as well. There have been a couple of games where he was obviously not as explosive off the line because of it.

It's still way too early to say who should have been the pick, but I can tell you right now that I'm happy without Bush. I hated the Williams pick at first I wanted them to take Vince, but overall I think this is the better move for the franchise. Next draft we need to take some top flight defenders in the secondary and possibly another d-lineman. Build a strong defense and the wins will start to come.

The first 3 quarters of that game last Sunday was not a very good game for VY. And with a little help from the Giants they gift wrapped that for the Titans. That being said VY is going to be real good as well as Mario. It will take minimum 3 years to evaluate each ( Mario, VY, and RB). The Texans draft in general was OUTSTANDING last year. I think the jury has spoken foe Carr. Before the season I said " Lets see how it plays out". I think Texan fans knows how that played out:headknock . Go Texans.

Should of got Reggie Bush and than traded him for some better offensive linemen for Carr.

Defense is good! But you have to put points on the board some how?

The way we are now, it looks like first round for us again?lol

Kubiak is having to deal with the "Casserly-Capers" mess. My feeling is those two clowns made so many bad decisions on player personnel that it is going to take a while to recover. The Texans probably need one or two more drafts to be able to put this team in position to were the will be favored to win.

Another factor that Kubiak is dealing with is the lose of 3/5's of the starting offense line, two tackles and his center, not to mention the lose of two DT's to injuries. The rest of the season is going to be **** shoot, because they do not have enough quality players to get the job done. Injuries are part of the game but right now, the Texans cannot afford to lose their starters.

Another interesting note is what Kubiak said on tv about this kick returner "Mathis" that is going to be activated. "He is going to be a full-time player not someone who comes in and returns three or four kicks a week"!!!! Sounds like there is a kick returner who dosen't think he needs to contribute other than returns.

The jury is still out on VY v Carr, but a blind man can see that VY has the ability to carry a team to a win. VY has that "air" about him that we are going to win come hell or high water, he is gamer that is going to cause a lot of grief for the Texans of the years to come.

Excellent post DannyMac. Well said.

I will tell you what, though. If we have the opportunity to draft Adrian Peterson and pass him up, I will be ******.

Who cares what his stats were? The only stat that matters is W's and he has more than Carr. How many 4th quarter comebacks has he had?

Watching athletes with that magic spark they can call up from somewhere inside is one of the most exciting things in sports. I agree that Vince Young has it.
