GO COOGS, I am glad to see the program back on track. Can't repeat the glory days of Bill Yeoman and team but it sure is fun watching them this year. UH/72.

I'm glad that the Coogs are winning and doing well. I definetly pull for those guys seeing as how thats where my dad went to school and it is the hometown school. Alot of times I wish we could trade baylor for Houston or TCU. I talk to my buddy that's at UH right now and he tells me how they have to beg students to go to games which I think is kinda sad. My dad was telling me about how there was a bar on campus when he was there; anyone know if it is still there; if so that is bad *** and I wish we had one on campus here at A&M. I guess the bird is pretty much on campus though

Still a bar on campus, in the student center. We also serve beer at FB and BB games. Problem with game attendance is the fact that UH is a commuter school. A very large majority of the student body is communting daily and either works or simply can't get up to campus on a weekend. We could do alot more to accomodate students on Saturdays (free parking near the stadium, more activities from alums to current students, etc.). Most of the on campus students attend games but that only makes up about 15% of the total student body. I was in the same boat only attending one or two games each of my years there, even though they are free to students.

That was a nice win. Hopefully the team doesn't get cocky and humbly rides this momentum. We MUST win out. I have my fingers crossed and hope to be spending Christmas in Memphis watching the Coogs in the Liberty Bowl. Ten years ago I rode the student bus up there to watch them take on Syracuse and we had a ball. This year (if we go) I plan to do it first class and really enjoy what that city has to offer.

12lb12lb, you need to be on the alumni board, if you aren't already. Your ideas could get more students to the games.
I really wish UH the best.

12lb you can still find free parking but you have to walk in a great distance...

I paid 5.00 to park bt the Arch Building last saturday, but the Sat before I parked in the same space for free..

Keep in mind as a current student we can buy up to 4 General admission tickets for 5.00 each and students get in free via the stident ID.....

Also keep in mind, that even if you have graduated you can still get in free, just use your student ID! As far as the parking, i think its a rip. Havent we paid enough money to go there?

I am glad to see UH doing well. No reason why they shouldnt win CUSA every year. They should never lose to Rice. Hopefully they continue to win and make the Liberty bowl.

JohnMy point exactly. I remember it well...park way back over by Law Hall, chug some beers and start the journey to Roberston (maybe about a 1/2 mile for those not familiar with the campus). My issue is that students pay what...120/ 125 for parking per semester, then can't roll up to the stadium and partake of the bigger tailgate festivities on Saturday? Ridiculous in my opinion, was when I was a student and still seems that way to me today. I know some alums, and I am a member of the alum org., that think my ideas are dumb. Where are we going to park is all I ever hear from them. They are afraid the students will over run the lot. Not the case if we have a student entrance with first come, first serve spots reserved for student tailgating. As it stands only way to get in there is if you are a season ticket holder. The only game, only game, I have ever seen that lot full for was UT, and that is because a lot of their alums were willing to pay big bucks to get close.

The free tics are great. But they have been free for a long time to students and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Getting students back to campus on a weekend is the problem. I for one think that including them in the Robertson festivities is the way to make it happen. We have to come up with a way to make the stadium the place to be come Saturday.

There has been, and remains talk, of a large sports bar possibly being built on the south side of the stadium. May help and won't require much in the way of used space to facilitate it.....we will see.

I totally agree. First of all I think it is totally ridiculous to have to pay to park in the first place. So, why as alumni, dont we try to do something about it. We pay $15 or $25 to go to the game and still have to pay $5 to park and walk a mile. When I went to the Rice game, they didnt charge to park. Maybe we should bring that to their attention. I know that my senior year '03, they did come up with an alternative for student parking at the games, However, I couldnt ever figure out where it was...it was free, so it was probably on the other side of campus. At any rate, it is a deterant for those who want to attend. I am a member of HAO and I am a board member on the Communicaton Alumni Assoc. Maybe if enough of us would voice our opinion something would be done. And they want me to become a life member?

I always supported UH, and enjoy watching them on tv, which is usually never. My dad graduated from there. I remember going to a game in Austin when Andre Ware was QB, to bad they got spanked. I did check the game out this last week, it was on some college channel, Good game, hope they win their confrence.
