Here is a pic of the Big Fish Bottomline and myself caught at the National Championship on Santee Cooper Sept. 25-26. We finished just out of the $$$ at 11th place out of 98 boats with a total weight of 132.3 lbs for a five fish limit. That was over a 26 lb average! In past tourneys this would have put us well into the top 10 finishers, but the bite was on for a lot of folks that weekend. Revenge will be had at the SC State Championship next March!!!
Tight lines!

It took 1.6 lbs more than we had and it was weighed-in 5 minutes before last call to get into the $$$ and knock us OUT of the $$$. Great trip, but I won't lie...that was a let-down. 1st place was 5 fish weighing 212 lbs, Big Fish 58 lbs from that stringer. Those guys took home all the $$$.....$5050 in total. Nice cha-ching if you can get it!

Dang, my tail just hung down between my legs hearing about those stringers.
Congrats to you and your catch. Forget the money, the pride can't be bought.

Welcom Katnip and Bottomline. Dem's some nice kittie feesh. I hate it when I get knocked of of the standings by a last arrival, it's just like a kick in the pants. But just making it that far is an accomplishment. What did that big gal weigh?

Great pic Katnip. I wouldn't be too upset about getting beat out of the cash... You SHOWED UP, and that's very cool in and of itself... I know there's no way I could have fished on a strange body of water and caught five fish as big as what you men put in the livewell... it takes a lot of confidence just to enter a contest like that...

Man that looks like a long fish! Did you guys get a length on it? I know getting in the money would have been great but finishing 11th is nothing to get down about at all! I think you guys did great.
Hey Rodney, you stuck anything yet? Our smokepole season starts tomorrow, it will be my first day of hunting all year! I'm usually half burnt out by now!
