Hi, everyone. Just a 2cool lurker here and just found this forum. Just wanted to say thanks for an encouraging forum and write a few words.

What an absolutely crappy week I've had. My job really sucks, wife griping, truck problems, etc. How easy would be just to go buy a pack of cigarettes. Or just bum one from one of the smokers at work. Just one wouldn't hurt. I figured it couldn't make matters worse. I managed to fight the urge another day.

I can't get rid of the craving, just a matter of how I deal with it. I dream about smoking and wake up in the middle of the night craving a cigarette. I don't know if it will ever go away.

Keepin' on with the strengthening of Jesus Christ,

Aquajoe, Welcome aboard. I would just like to politely disagree with your statement that just one more won't hurt. The way I look at it, one more could kill you. See, you can't ever start back to smoking again...until you have just one more. So in a real sense all you have to do is to just not smoke that one more cigarette.

Might even make it easier to think of in those terms...You don't have to worry about not smoking untold numbers of cigarettes from now on. Just make sure you don't smoke that "Just One More". ;)

Best of luck! Hang in there, you can do it!

Jack, thank you for disagreeing with me. I completely agree with you that "just one more" is the start of many more to follow. It was just a thought running through my head in my time of weakness and I overcame it.

Aqua, thanks for posting. It helps us to hear from people who have quit long ago. It is hard to imagine that I will crave two years from now. I guess that lets us know how strong the drug is.
