Greetings Fisherpeople!

It's been awhile since I last posted. I recently moved to a new location here in Rockport.
I was at the corner of Magnolia and E. Main ( Rabe Enterprises ), But I found a nice little place with a great view, on the water with a dock and a boat slip.
The place is a lot smaller than the old shop, but cheaper rent!!!!!!!!!
I repair ,clean and service almost any type of reel. I rebuild old rods, build new custom rods, and replace guides.
I even repair tackle boxes and waders.

Please note: Zebco ( Quantum )makes some of the cheapest tackle known to man, therefore I try my best NOT to service any Zebco product, except their rods.
If the Zebco reel only needs cleaning, I can do that, reluctantly, for a fee.
You might wonder why I do not like Zebco?
Simple, their products are ****, plain and simple. Not to mention that this new fellow who bought Zebco, laid off more than 500 hard working Americans and moved their production facility to China.
One of the most deciding factors about me not wanting to deal with Zebco is that they have a bad habit of discontinuing a line of reels and parts.

Just like the old 1310 Mg model. Thousands of these reels were sold and lots of people fished with them. Now no parts are available at all from Zebco for the 1310 and many others.
Daiwa is the same way and getting worse. Just my opinion you know.

The best spinning reels for saltwater ( in my opinion ) are Penn s/s series, Shimano Stradic, Sedona, and Stella. The best baitcasting reels are : Calcutta's, Shimano Curado 200 B and the old ABU 5000 can't be beat.

So if you need any thing done to your equipment and you are visiting Rockport or are from the area, feel free to stop by.
In most cases, same day service. Average turn around is 2 to 3 days.
I stock parts for: Shimano, ABU, Penn, Daiwa and some Shakespeare.

The cleaning price for most baitcast and spinning reels is $ 15.00 per reel. Offshore reels are more.

Guide service is available also from Capt. Floyd Lucas. Capt. Floyd runs a 24ft. Explorer fully rigged for up to 5 people. He guides for Specks, Reds and Flounder. Capt. Floyd also cleans reels in his spare time.

My new location is at the south end of Rockport Harbor behind the "Sea Shell Shop".
The address is:

Thanks for the info. I know Zebco bought Spinit reel co. back years ago and I was not impressed. I love the Daiwas and plan to buy more but now that you mention it they did discontinue one of my favorites the Sealine 50HSD. thanks again for the info.
