I was able to brush my teeth this morning without making my gums bleed. It made me feel a little bit better, but I do miss my snuff. Actually, I think I miss it most when I'm doing nothing. I believe that my dip was all about having something to do to pass the time (like between bites fishing). I also notice that I'm hungry more often. I used to always just load another dip when I felt hungry, now, I just feel hungry.

I'm not as worried about caving into the cravings as forgetting that I'm quitting. I can't tell the number of times I've caught myself wondering why I didn't have a dip in. Or the number of times I've patted my jeans looking for my can without thinking about it.

Then I take some time to think about how much better off my teeth and general health will be, how much money I won't be throwing away, and all of you guys here going through you own struggles and victories.

Hang in there guys and say your prayers; He can help you through this.

-God Bless Us All

Kelly, feel free to vent in here any time. I think that is what this thread is best for. You are almost over the hump. Your physical need for tobacco has left your system and now all you have to battle is the psychological. You are much tougher than the can. It is great how smooth your gums feel after quitting. No more sore spots and worrying about every small lump or spot in your mouth. I feel like I have dodged a bullet. It will be five weeks for me this friday since I quit and I can honestly tell you it gets much easier week after week. I still eat seeds like a madman and chew the fake snuff a couple times a day, but have very few cravings.
