Yesterday was a bad day for me. I know I shouldn't have any excuses but I stopped by the store on my way home. I yelled and cursed at someone that I consider a friend at work and I felt really really horrible for doing it. I don't know where it came from. My mind is constantly thinking and it's driving me crazy. I really do want to quit so I am going to make an appt with my Dr. to see if he can prescribe something for me to at least slow my mind down and ease the tension like Zyban or something. I heard that there is a new drug out there to help quit tobacco.
Don't give up on me

Zyban worked for me. And I do understand. Makes you wan't to pull your hair out.. Nicotine is the most addicting drug there is. It takes about 1 year to get the nicotine out of your system.

If I can do it you can, but try Zyban. It works fast....now I can't believe that I ever smoked.

Good luck to you, and here is wishing you many more good fishing day's :)

Billy, we have all caved. Very few have succeeded on the first or second try. Do what you can to quit. If you can get over the first few days, it eases up drastically after that so all you have to do is manage a few annoying cravings.

Well, I got an Rx for some Wellbutrin today. I just dropped it off at Walgreens and will pick it up after work. I really hope that this stuff works. My pregnant wife suggested to me last night that I need to go to the Dr. to get something because I am very hard to be around. I will over come this.

Gotta weigh in here, My Wife and I have been tobacco free for 8 years - it was hard, very hard for her - I lived through her quitting 10 or 15 times before it stuck. Just keep at it and one day you just Click - I never even think about a smoke anymore.

I'm on day 5!!!!!! I've only had two moments that I REALLY fealt the need for nicotine and a buddy gave me some of the "commit" lozenges. They're mints with nicotine. I don't want to use them much but I need to control my mood so my girlfriend doesn't leave me and I don't get fired. It imediately helps. Most of the time I have been so darn happy that I'm finally quitting that I've actually been annoyingly happy, go figure. Been smoking 20 years and was up to two packs a day and it has really been ok as far as the nicotine goes. It's the habit that has been hard but I'm actually laughing at my cravings now. I sincerely find it funny how often I think about a cigarette even though I'm excited about quitting. Strange stuff this quitting.....

Wellbutrin has the same affect as Zyban. It's not that it will make you feel better. Those are used to decrease the cravings for nicotine. I know Zyban worked for me, and I only took it for 3 months. I haven't smoked for over 6 years now. And I have no desire at all. But I do realize the first 3 months are not easy for you. But once you kick the habit. You will not have the guilt feelings anymore. You'll feel so much better, and be able to breath. And adding years to your life.

Keep it up guys!! It is totally worth it. I did it a couple of years ago. It's not easy. But nothing worthwhile is... I can't tell you how good it feels to wake up and not feel heavy chested like I ate a couple of packs of cigarettes!! You can do it!!!!!!!!

Good luck to all !!!
