You know how it is. Something new like this comes along and a bunch of folks get all excited and decide to make their stand...Kick the habit. Yeah!! Then, after a lot of commotion at first things quietly slip back to the way they were before.

Maybe it would be a good thing to have something in this forum, on a sticky of course, like a daily report or post or really just anything to keep the idea of kicking fresh in every one that is going through it's mind. And to let each other know that we are still fighting the good fight and we are still here to support each other as the struggle continues.

Maybe not as formal or dull as the stereo-typical AA meeting but something perhaps a little lighter but just as regular.

If you are one of those that is quitting, you could post up and say stuff like, Well, another day of success or even well, I slipped a little today. See? Just keep it light keep it honest and above all, check in every day or so. Helps to keep your focus, hopefully,

Related funny stories and experiences would be great. I'm not sure how to shape this and set it up but does anyone see what I'm after here. Anyone think it might help?

I quit Skoal 4 years ago. I somehow started smoking cigars about a year ago. I am on the 6th day smoke free. No patches yet. I am cold turkey. The patches were needed to quit the Skoal though. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations Boaz.
I 've been carrying the little round can for 26 years now. Where/what is the patch you are refering to? Not ever really trying to quit I don't know whats out there besides cold turkey.
Thanks

Thanks Mitchw123456, I'll be going to Walgreens....soon. Still trying to pump myself up for this. Reading everyones reports does help. Looking at this green can on my desk does not. Deer season is fast approaching and that don't help either. Wasn't going to tell the wife about this plan, just see if she noticed no spit cups in the cars, under the sink, by the couch etc... last night I had to tell her about this thread and my plan. I'll write back in a couple of days with my start date. this is going to be hard.
