Most think oil will hang around $60? Speculators aren't playing that game at the moment. Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered. One thing for sure, it will go up again. Ethanol is dead for now.

mr. breeze has been watching Cramer.....

Some of the oil services have been hanging in there,as long as there is demand for rigs and services.

they're coming back up.....30 more cents and I can dump the service stock I bought a few weeeks ago...

I think we're about to see a massive slow down...I wouldn't say a crash, but I'm betting it's about to slow down.

Natural gas is below $5, which is an important number for operators here....
There are some operators talking about bringing more rigs in.... and some operators have already started letting rigs go. The rigs are getting picked up by smaller operators that haven't been able to drill wells in the last year or so, but if natural gas keeps dropping, they'll probably let the rigs go as well.

It's true service companies and rig contractors are still making money...since their profits aren't tied directly to the price of gas or oil... but it's going to be interesting to see what happens in the next couple months

Natural gas took a hit becuase of the Hedge Fund collapse that was heavily invested in gas gambling on another bad hurricane season. Might be a play there?

Snapper, you got me, lol watch Cramer everyday. The new show Fast Money is much better.

I don't think natural gas will go down more.. it really depends on the remainder of the hurricane season and how severe a winter we have.

I hope we don't have any hurricanes.. but for my own selfish reasons, I wouldn't mind seeing a cold ***** winter this year!

i picked up some CHK in the recent correction - i think is some decent margin of safety on some of the higher quality issues

i believe that CHK can get back to the 33 range - i bought this as trade so i will hold it less than a year - some of my longer term picks are BUD (bought in the low 40s), DELL (picked some up this summer when the thing was brutalized) and CX (picked up this summer when the BRIC markets were gutted) - other than that i have most of my equity holdings in mutual funds - Longleaf Partners and Third Avenue - i plan on holding these stocks for several years. I recommend the book Intelligent Investor by Ben Graham - it is an excellent read!

T-Boone Pickens usually is right on with Oil. Says it will hit 70 before 50. Opec has to really tighten for it to hit 70. IMO or God Forbid, a Hurricane. Come on November!
