Don't know if this is the proper forum but will ask anyway.

My wife and I own a lot on the water in Magnolia Beach. We are also in the process of buying a lot at Ingleside on the Bay. With State Farm about to cancel all home insurance with in a certain distance of the water, and others to follow, where would I look for home insurance so I can build my retirement home?

Any input would be appreceiated.

My wife is an independent agent. She has a number of A rated insurance companies. They have competitive rates. Call 210-681-1800 for a quote.

Most companies are not cancelling homeowners they're just dropping the windstorm coverage so you'll have to get in the state pool Texas Windstorm Insurance.

Thanks for the input guys. I can understand dropping the windstorm, but that doesn't leave much else down here. I am not in a flood plain, and we don't get Hail very often. That only leaves fire.

I wonder if they will drop windstorm in the area known as tornado alley?
