Wheeler is an awsome place to catch some big blues, especially dis time of the year. Try cut shad and skipjack in the deep ledges and drops, usual catsy structure. I heard rumors the other day of catching fish in the tailrace, but don't know how true.
Of course you could always drive another 2 1/2 hours west, and try pickwick, which I am a little more familiar with. ;)

If you make it down give me a hollar Mudhole........My motor blew up on me during practice for the US Cats trny......so I'll be land bound for awhile.......I did however get to fish the tournament....my partner brought his boat, I found a few fish but not nearly enough........we had 6 fish that weighed 92 lbs during the two day event.....The team of David Coughlin and Carey Ricketts won with 255 lbs.

Is there a CURSE on the members of this forum? I can count four or five people that have had motors go south on them this summer and fall, myself being one of them. So, I know how you feel, just sux to happen right before a big tourney.
