...and boy,do my dawgs ache!Went out last night, even though it was kinda on the breezy side.Didn't do bad...didn't do good.My feeshin' partners last night were my usual bud,Jeff, and his girlfriend,Robin. She was designated jug man for the evenin',and Jeff and I manned the spotlight, trolling motor, and net.Robin landed a 6lb. blue, which was placed in the floorboard, when a larger fish hit.In the excitement of preparing to net a 17 lb. blue,I jumped up,stepped(full weight)on the knife-like pectoral of the 6 lber, which punctured my Nike sole, like hot butter, lodging a coupla inches into the arch of my right foot.WOOOOOWEEEEEE,I exclaimed!!:headknock To make a long story short,we called it a night, about 3am...Robin got cold and to be honest I could feel the blood squishin' in my sock...plus,I got an 8/0 stuck in the first joint of my index finger...Robin held a line, that was already bein' held! I was pretty ready to roll on home, too. We ended with the 17 lb.blue and a mixture of blues and channels under 10 lbs...might have to try to see if the bite has switched up to the daylight hrs.,with the arrival of cooler temps.

I don't suppose this needs saying, but I'm gonna say it anyway.... Keep on top of that punture wound before it gets infected... the one in your foot... We love catfish, but we hate punctures caused by their spiney pectoral and dorsal fins... they aren't toxic, but they certainly do pose a bacterial infection threat...

Man dats GOTTA hurt. I feel for you my friend, cause I know how it feels first hand. I carried a piece of pec fin under the skin of my left thumb on the outside edge for over a year, and every time I bumped it hard, it cause great pain, so I really fell for you. Like Hawkeye said, keep on top of it, but you probably already know that, dealing with the sick folks all the timew anyway.

The first thing I do when I boat/land a catfish is snap the tips off of all the fins. No holes in your icechest, hands or feet that way. Hope it heels fast.
