Hit the ramp at 5:30 caught bait, (shad and a big buffalo), and tooled out to the island in the dark. By the time I made it to the South/West end of the island it was getting light and there were already stripers knocking shad into the air all around a shallow bay right on the end of the island. A jointed redfin would bring a gang of 16 to 18" stripers instantly to fight over the bait. I caught five on it before they seemed to wise up. I tied on a white top water mirrolure and caught 7 more before the sunlight hit the water and turned the action off like a switch. I trolled for whites all over the south end with no luck and cast out some shad at the hump for cats with no luck. I think we need a change in the weather to spark the whites back in the mood.
