Hey, Where do u put jugs on Lake Houston and what do you use. We put out 5 jugs using beef heart, checked every 2 hours for 8 hours and only caught two. We were in the middle of the south end, 20-23 foot of water.

Get a lake map,I am not an expert but I believe there are two creek bottoms in the lake on the south end of the lake. Jug the creek bottom to the east side of the lake where the railroad crosses. If I were going jugging thats where I would go to start. As far as bait goes I would use fresh shad. Go along the shores and trees and throw a net to catch your bait.Like I said I am far from being an expert at jugging. I am sure there will be plenty more post to this thread.

from where you where at, move over to the east side in skiers cove and fish the channel, work on the drop closes to the bank.

I was thinking this was going in a different direction.

go north of the RR bridge and fish where TROB use to fish before he went conroe. LOL whats up Tim? Fish the main channel north of the RR bridge. Don't over look the shallows around the front of Maggies drawers or the pasture early and late. In side ski cove fish the hump in front of the creek on the north east shore. Chicken liver and fresh shad is best. If using beef add some galic.

you could try just north of the railraod bridge but all the pressure that it recieves has just about killed it, Waterspout I still fish there, just stay low to keep the peace. Also with the spawn on go north of the Mccay bridge on the west side and fish the two rock Islands. the one as you go under the bridge heading north is a great producer and you can rig up with bobber and worm with no wieght to catch them. just cast to the rocks and take up slack till the rig floats and hang on. Never use any blood product in the summer for bait, it spoils. Use fresh cut shad or something learned lately, large shiners.

in the area he was skiers cove was best, also in the cove, fish the mouth of the creek in the back of it for catfish and crappie.
