I've read some that say it is. But I also read some are very skeptical and saw in the paper this morning breifly something about Moody lowered there credit rating becasue of the fuel prices and Ford's sales being tons of SUV's, trucks. So I have no idea.

One foot in bankruptcy. I'd wait a few weeks and see if they can start to recover. Years of poor designs and terrible quality have caught up to Ford. My wife has a 03 Eddie Bauer Expedition and it is a POS. Never buy domestic again!

I bought an 01 Escape and have had NO problems with it - still get 26 mpg with 119,000 miles on it

Had to replace the PFE valve (which I thought meant Pretty F*&##$*& Expensive) but that was a recall on Ford - so they covered it - other than that - replaced the slave cylinder - its a standard - haven't even had to replace brakes yet! I do the oil change every 5000 miles though

As for stock - its gonna depend on who corners the market on a reliable "green" motor and how long batteries will last (see ALTI)

What DOES peeve me - is that THEY (the car companies) knew this was coming! Amazing that all of the sudden - everyone has E85 motors and such available - where were they 10 years ago?? I think Sweden or some place like that - has been on E85 for about 10 years

Heard on Fast Money tonight that their bonds are paying 10%. Might have to try some of that action.

High risk, high return for a 10% bond. Just remember they are junk classification.

Why gamble that the turn around is near? The upside might be great but the downside is BK where shareholders get zilch. Give up some upside in return for preserving your capital and buy later when things look a little more stable.

They may be the best selling cars in America, but are losing their arse! That tells you that they are poorly managed and cannot controls costs. It won't be long before they file bankruptcy and ask for a govt. bailout like Chrysler did in the eighties or merge with Toyota.Yep, they are terrible. Just the best selling vehicles in the world. :p

Fords not going down. They are so diversified in the world market. They went through the same deal in the late 70's early 80's, retooling for new models and some management restructuring. Sounds like its got no where to go but up.

I predict we will all be driving Toyotas 20 years in the future. If Ford, GM, and Chrysler don't get a handle on quality control pretty soon, they will become extinct along with every other creature that was unable to adapt to thier changing environment.

I was watching a news segment on Ford about a month ago that stated they lost $12+ billion in ’06 and after their restructuring don’t expect to be profitable until ’09.

Ford has additional problems...They have targeted their advertising toward a
small segment of the population and have alianated a sizable portion of their
customer base...Resulting in a boycott against them...

The volume on the stock is picking up and is making higher lows, so the direction is probably up.

I like my 02 F350 Diesel and 05 Expidition. Never any problems. Have been to Halifax Nova Scotia, Ft Myers Fl and Washington and Origan pulling a 36 ft fifth wheel. Best truck I ever owned.
