The best 8wt. on the market today fro less than $250 is a Temple Fork Outfitter TiCrx. They are avalible at FTU, Bass Pro are Cabelas.

See RW at Cabelas Fly Shop, Buda, 512 295 1100, about a TFO Lefty Kreh signature combo. That model is a bit slower and less expensive the the CXRi and the CXR models-and very user friendly. In that combo configuration, which includes backing and flyline, I think you can stay within your budget. RW has forgot more than most of us know about flyfishing tackle and technique.Tight lines...
