Two limits, under three sets of birds, at 7am,11am, and 1pm.
All near Bird Island flats and channel.
First group we spotted as a boat ran right throughthe middle of them trying to get to their favorite spot at the end of the flat!
Second group we were pot licked by two groups!
Third group two wet bikes ran through!
We still got two limits and countless throw backs.

I was wading on the flat yesterday morning and caught a few NICE fish on topwaters. Any size to the trout under the birds? what boat were you in? Thanks.

I have a twenty ft DuraCraft, blue, poling platform,140 Tohatsu.
We were between the last two white markers at 7 and 11 am,
and right about where the marooned tank sat on th flat prior to last years flood around 1 pm.
Most were in the 17"-20", with one 23".
The larger fish were caught dragging the bottom at the edge of the flat(roughly 6' of water). And of course we had fun with plenty of throw back interceptors.
I did manage to get my line wrapped around a seagulls wing and he kept diving under water. When I finally got him to the boat and pulled him in, 18" below was a hooked keeper that dang near drowned that bird!
Fish in the box ,Bird flew off.

Is there a trick you use with the tops?
Mind explaining the pause?
By the way, I keep my boat at Treasure Island and usually fish alone.
We should hook up some time.

Pause,

You got to hold your mouth just right? Right Kenny? Seriously, the pause comes after a blow up letting the fish pull the lure down before you hook set! Or, if you get a blow up and miss, twitch twitch, and pause for another strike! I think Kenny's pause has to do with lighting another smoke while his plugs in the water lmao...Knuttdeep? Do you know Mike Busby a bud of mine who lives on TI near KOA drives a 19' whaler?

I know roughly 3 people in my immediate vicinity, and after 4.5 years down there found out a couple of Sugar Land neighbors have places or kin with places.

Man, there must be about a dozen whalers in there.

Just off the channel running by Bird Island Flat, heading in to West Bay. Don't mind telling you because on any given day your gonna have fun just dodging boats!

I seldom fish there because of the traffic but tha's where the birds were working Memorial Day.
