Fished Henry's Fork of the Snake River near West Yellowstone but only for trout.
Have family from Utah who were on Henry's Fork Lake ( near West Yellowstone) a couple of weeks ago and they caught lots of fish but I think they were mostly trout and on spinners like Rooster Tails, etc.
Sorry I can't be more help. I do know CO near Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park is still having a pretty strong flow from snow melt and that is slowing fishing there.
I would expect Jackson Hole to be about the same, with lots of runoff still.

Head toward the main entance of the park and look for a sign that will direct you to Jade lake and camp ground. Fished and camped there a couple of summers ago in July for cut throat trout and had a blast. Once there take the trail up the mountain side to upper Jade lake, it's about a 1/2 mile hike but worth it. beautiful hike and lots of fish. Use night crawlers (worms) under a cork. I was fly fishing and only caught a couple, but my buddy had worms and tore them up. Good luck........

Oh my God! Don't be fishing cutthroat with crawlers! The locals will kick you out of the state if you are lucky! Use Adams sz. 12 -18, Elk hair caddis, sz. 12-16, royal wulff sz. 10-14 for dries. If you want nymphs, use bead head prince and hare's ears sz. 10 - 16 and also pheasant tails. Those flies will catch fish in any rocky mtn stream (I was a guide there in Gunnison, CO & did grad school in Bozeman, MT).

I'm headed up to Jackson hole next week. I posted on another forum about guide recommendations, but didn't get any responses.

Anyone with any thoughts about good guides?

Go to Jack Dennis outdoors on the South side of the square and get a guide to take you on a Float trip down the Snake. Truly an experience you'll never forget. Two fisherman per boat. I've done it a couple of times.

You can walk in and fish fish creek within the elk refuge and catch cut throats. Hike up Pacific creek can be great this time of year. That's just inside the Teton park entrance at Moran Junction. The Firehole (easy walk in) is loaded with Brookies this time of year.

Most importantly go to Jack Dennis outdoors and they'll help you. Due to tourism, however, I would line up an guided float trip before I got there.

Go get one of the guides and do a float trip on the Snake. You'll be thrilled you did. Awesome scenery. You'll catch a lot of fish. Don't have to be a fly fishing guru on float trips - the current does most of the work for you.
