Had some left over mullet from Tuesday's surf trip. I took it out to livingston on some rod and reels and fished for bluecats.
They were on a roll. We caught 4 over 30" (about 17+lbs)and 15 between 2 and 10 pounds

I think I just spoke to you at the boat ramp when you were unloading. I was checking the lake level at the state park ramp.
I am heading out in the morning to make a day of it, white bass or cats.....whatever will tug the line.
I am looking at my hot spot map now.....Any suggestions for tommorrow?

I never know when I might take off and sling some shad.

Right now anywhere just on the side of the river bed, throw out where the water is 40' to 60' deep and be anchored on the side in about 30+'. throw big chuncks of cut bait, wait till the rods is bent double, line starting to strip before you pick it up.

Shadslinger, my friend. I was thinking about you as I was passing through Livingston today on my way to Shreveport, La. Wife and I are on another excursion just travelling around. As I type, it is one am and we are in the honeymoon suite of a fine old Victorian Bed and Breakfast. I type quietly as not to wake up the bride of 35 years.
Congrats on the fine cats, SS. You and your fine wife have done it again. Fresh or salt, you have what it takes to be a fine fisherman. Keep up the good work, my friend.
