I have several K I need to park in MM accounts with a decent rate. I can get around 5% over the internet, but only around 1% in Beaumont. Anybody want to sweeten the offer? Federally insured of course.

You might want to check in the Houston Chronicle on Mondays I believe they give the best rates out there weekly. If you can get 5% over the internet that is great as far as locally you would be real lucky to get over 2%. If you dont need the money and just want to put it away and keep it liquid you might want to get a 3, 6, or 9 month cd.

It depends on your liquidity needs and how much you are looking to keep in cash and what your personal federal income tax rate is. For instance, we offer an institutional tax exempt fund which is paying 3.3% tax free. So if you are in the high tax bracket, that is a tax equiv. yield of 5.077 % and daily liquidity.
If you can go out a little longer, some of the CD's are doing well. As an example, our FDIC insured 6-month CD right now is paying 5.32% and our 3-month CD is paying 5.09% annual percentage yield.
