Got a new Dell system a few months ago, didn't realize that I could only get printer cartridges from dell. Do any of you have any sucess refilling you own? I have found a few places to send them to and have them refilled at about one half the price of new. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What model number is the printer?
Anyway, about refilling ink yourself. Are the nozzels a part of the cartridge? When you change/replace the cartridge it cleans the nozzels. Keeping the heads clean is important to good printing. Important, I do know of cases where the printer was ruined by people doing this themselves.
I have refilled some and the quality of the ink used is not as good. I refill an Epson that I use just for printing docs, no images. I have others for images, where quality prints matter. (after all, thats why we buy a photo quality printers).
You should stick with the name brand of printer cartridge. Dell, HP or whatever, in the long run your prints will be better and the printer will last longer. Checkout Sam's (Walmart) and buy in bulk. I can get a four pack of cartridges for a little more than the price of a two pack elsewhere.

Check the print quality settings, you may be able to extend the life of your ink if you adjust the setting.

Thanks Bill, its a model A940. My understanding so for is that I can only purchase the cartridges from Dell. I probably would not have bought dell if I had realized that.
