Hello everyone, been a while since I posted here last. My pass word didn't work, and when I contacted Mont, he told me that some one hacked the site and screwed everything up. Well, it's good to be back.
The Striped Bass are back and it didn't take me long to nail a nice 24 pounder on Friday off my buddies new boat. Bunker were feeding all over by Staten Island NY and we floated out a bunker head, and this fish grabbed my bait.
Hell of o fight. There were also tons of Slammer Blues everywhere.
Hope to have many more pictures to post this summer.
The one attached picture shows the swarm of Bunker at the surface of the water. The other was a big thunder storm that hit us. The rest are ME with my fish.

Did you use live bait to catch him? Correct me if I'm wrong. Are Bunker the same as Menhadden? Welcome back. Keep up the good work. Stripers a deeelicious! Caught several from the bank of the Hudson when I worked at Indian Point 2. ComeFrom?

if i'm right bunker look a lot like menhaden but not the same fish, could be wrong

Yeah, bunker are menhadden.

I floated out a bunker head, and my buddy live lined one of the bunker we snagged.
This picture is of the first two bunker snagged. We had about 15 before we started to fish. They are oily, and not for human consuption, but the fish love em.

Man look at those conditions, I guess I'll have to go to Jersey to get away from this dang wind!! We haven't seen conditions like that in months. Nice catch, glad someones been able to go fishing.

We went out again this Thursday, but my buddy was the only one to land a Striper. Bunker were still all over the place. What we didn't use are now in my freezer to be used in the surf next week.
