we are trying to put some new labeling software on a computer (Win 2k OS), and keep getting the following error

Error=429 ActiveX Component can't create object

details: classlabel::Openfile

hints appreciated

that is a kinda general catch all error code. (LOL) I have found that when this occurs something did not get installed properly. I would un-install throught the add/remove, select all and remove. Then re-install. Then reboot. It might be caused by an OCX since you are trying labeling software.

Bill, it won't let me do the uninstall. It's getting a fresh copy of Win2K installed as I type.

any chance you have VB or Access installled? Both of them could also be causing the problem. If this is the case here are the links to M$ articles.
