I attended a club meeting at Gander Mountain on I45 North tonight. The guest speaker was Dean Thomas of Slowride Guide Services and Kayak Rentals. He gave a very informative talk on fly fishing and kayaking at Aransas Pass. Those of you that know him know that he is a class act and very helpful. His choice of rod for that area is an 8 wt. with a bass taper floating line and his favorite flies are the Clouser Deep Minnow, very small spoons, and a small Whistler fly tied on a size 6 hook. He will be at the fishing show and you can check out his flies and ask questions. Again, it was fun having him as a guest speaker.
