that looks like a pretty deep chip from the blank... depending on the place where the chip is u can do a couple things.. at least some things that i would do ... if the chip is near the top half of the blank id cut it down and make a short rod lol ... but its lower.. it looks like it will eventually break.... try laying a couple coats of epoxy in it maybe and see what happens

Mando,
From your picture it's hard to tell where the break is on the rod. If the break is not in the action area, the rod can be cut in half, spliced with epoxy and wrapped with thread then epoxy again and it should hold up.
I can repair it for you if you like. The average cost for a repair like yours costs
about $ 7.00 in my shop..
As long as breaks are not in the action (upper two thirds) part of the rod, a section of an old blank can be cut to fit and epoxied together, then wrapped with thread.
My shop is located in downtown Rockport, Tx. Behind Victoria's Gold and Gems.
Good luck!

the break is the at the third guide down from the tip top on the last pic. i think its pretty much a sunk boat. the guides are still in great shape, i might just save em to build a new rod later on. 80 bucks down the drain :(
