Any recommendation of investing in precious metals for long term investments. Wanting to diversify and put some dollars into previous metals, but I am not sure what direction to head. Any help will be appreciated.

....I do not know a lot about metals, although I traded in gold briefly. Here's is what very little I know.
Metals are a commodity....and like any commodity the price can make large swings very quickly. Commodities are very hard to predict. You can be up $10,000 one day and down $20,000 the next. As such, most traders consider commodities short-term investments.
Gold, at least, seems to do very well when inflation is rising - it almost like trading currencies.
That's about all I know...not much help...sorry....

You're about one year too late :)
Look at gold, platinum and silver over the past 18 mos. WOW! I would not consider getting in now. JMHO.

Rule #1 When you see it on CNBC, rest assured that you will be the very last buyer. Metals have just made an amazing run...you're too late for this move. Metal equities have also started making bearish technical moves after a helluva run. If you're going to get in, just honor your stop so you don't get your face ripped off. Nothing worse than taking their experience and your money and turning it into your experience and their money.

Consider uranium mining stocks.

Precious metals are a good way to diversify a portfolio. Stocks can and have been worth nothing. Gold and silver have always been worth something.
Having said that, the market is very hot right now and it would be foolish to buy at the current prices.
