Im sure the left and the anti's will do thier best to keep it stirred up but in my opinion there really isnt much to report here after the initial report. Cheney and a friend were hunting, the hunter walked up on Cheney's flank unannounced and Cheney swung on a bird and peppered his friend "superficially". Cheney got immediate help for his friend, they took him to the hospital, and he is doing fine. His life was never in serious danger and its one of them things that happened. Even the hospital spokesman said in that part of the country its something they see pretty often. End of story in my book but I know they are gonna have fun with this all week. Shouldnt go any farther than late night talk shows and SNL. Maybe Dubya can slip in another Judicial nominee this week while the left is chasin this story throwing gas on it.:rolleyes:

Similar situation happened to me once in Virginia, pheasant hunting. My dad and I were walking on an open trail, two guys in the bushes about 50 feet away flushed a bird who flew between us. They shot and hit us instead of the bird. Lucky for us, they got us in the back, no exposed flesh. My dad yelled "Get down", I was locking and loading for the range war!

IMHO, this really is a non-issue. Just gives the media, liberals and comedians something to talk about. Heck the media couldn't even explain the difference between birdshot and other more powerful shotgun loads. I also see where the media is angry because of the time it took to reveal exactly what happened. FYI media dolts, perhaps it took some time to gather all the facts (something you people don't always do but should) before going public.

I say that the information was handled in a timely manner and released somewhat correct. We saw what happens when people jump the gun with news at the Virginia mine accident. At least this lawyer's family was notified that he was ok before a van set up on their lawn and started reporting what ever they wanted from their "reliable sources"
