They sale Harringtons at Cut Rate in Houston when they are being produced. I have a friend who called and talked to the lady who owns the company, and she said that they have not gone out of business.
I remember the same thing happened about 15 years ago. You couldn't find a Harrington anywhere for a year or two.

Last time I was in Cut Rate they had a couple of 555's in stock but it's been a while since I've been in there.

I like the Harrington 555 for the 12/0. But got another question, which Harrington rod would be more suited for surf casting & a Penn 545GS or 555GS reel? I don't know their numbers, but new they had some 10' 1-piece that could handle the 5oz&bait.
Thanks,
Sharp

i just got a harrington 724... im going to have a daiwa sealine-x 50shv reel on it.... i had a 721 which was 9' and loved it.. but the car was got ahold of it lol and its dead now lol.... if you are looking for a lighter blank that will toss really far look at the breakaway blanks....a lot more expensive...but well worth the buck.. i wish i had one

Animal,
I tried to go to Harringtons site and it doesn't seem to exist anymore. I sent Jean at Harrington an email earlier and it came back. I have heard they were gonna go out of business from a lot of different sources. I don't know if it is true or not. I would tell everybody that if you like the blanks and can find them better get while the gettin is good. it sure aint lookin good for them. I talked to Jean about a year or so ago and he told me that the owners son and daughter-in-law or vise versa were killed in a accident and they were having trouble but he assured me that they were not going out of business. Who knows.

Welp I have tried also the website for Harrington Rods as well, and no luck either..
Have been looking for some 552's and last I heard Cut Rate was out of them and have been since last year, and still waiting. I need to call and check with them again, but sure it's the same ole story as last year. Roy's in Corpus has been out of them as well, so let's just hope that Harrington gets things back up and start filling those Back-Orders soon... If anyone see or hears anything new on Harrington sending out or anyone having some blanks for sale again, Please post it and the info!
Thanks,
Debbie
