cd rom back...

In the link below I mentioned that my cd rom was no longer showing up on my computer. Several things were mentioned to try even replacing it. Because of my work load, I haven't been able to do anything on the computer. Today I noticed that the computer was locked up from one of the kids playing games. When I rebooted the computer, I noticed the cd rom is working again with-out doing anything to it. The $5 dollar question is... should I be concerned that there is an underlying problem going on with my computer?

Make sure the cd drive is reconized in the bios.

1. check ide cable on mobo and cd drive. (big grey one, it might just be loose)
2. bios setting set to auto or atapi cd rom (if all is set to auto probably the easiest setting)

Then if the cd player is displayed during boot before windows loads, its a windows problem.
