thanks oldeman... i will note down a couple of the numbers in the houston/pasadena area and give them a shout....

thanks fridayfisher.... specific part i am looking for right now, is th instrument cluster (tach, speedo and the box with the lights) for a '98 1100 virago... of course, no telling what else i may buy once i get there, if they have any selection of other parts... i wouldn't mind picking up another gas tank, and maybe the fenders... thinking about doin some painting during the colder months, and may prefer to get another set and paint them, instead of taking these off and painting, beside my fuel tank has a dent the size of the front billet light where the previous owner laid it down... i am not a body man by any stretch of the imagination, and have no idea how to get the dent out... i read somewhere that you had to cut a hole in the bottom to get in there and knock it out.... then that would require welding it back closed again, and i don't have a welding machine.... also, it would be a trial and error thing once i started painting, and at least doing it on a spare set, my ride would still be rideable while i played.... other than that i dunno, anything that i find that i may like to add/swap.... also, wouldn't mind finding a set of forward controls, i know new they are like $300+, if i can find one in a salvage yard, i may be able to get then a little cheaper...

again, thanks for the replies...

cant decide whether I want to spend the dough to fix it or chop it or sell it right away.
know the feeling.... i've never had a crotch rocket, and it's really getting to be an itch to have one (along the lines of gary's itch to have a bike)... i threw mine up for sale a day or so ago, see if i get any interest or not... if i don't get any responses, i may just hang on to it and have a project for the winter.... if you know of anyone looking for an inexpensive, reliable bike, send em my way..... if not, i'll be hitting the salvage yards soon....

yeah, i was going to post it on craiglist, but thought i'd give it a few days on here first... would have posted pics if anyone was interested, but didn't want to take up monts space if not needed.... actually craiglist had someone the other day wanting to trade for a cruiser type bike, sent an e-mail, but have yet to hear back from him.... i also am on a VERY limited budget, so i know where your coming from....
