I just installed a new Sphere ESC and the Neo 1 motor and can not figure out how to change the mode.

I can make the leds flash like they mode is changing but I can not find a way to "Set" the mode that is indicated by the flashing lights. It seems that the instructions left off a step in stating how to make the mode selected "stick". I do not want Mode 1 but either mode 3 or 4.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Keith

I see what you mean - LRP is kind of bad about that, even though they are a great ESC maker!

Here are the instructions:

http://www.lrp-electronic.de/e/uploads/RA00158_Sphere_E_050506fv.pdf

Best I can tell is that once you have the desired MODE number leave the ESC alone and see if it returns to its "normal" state.

So when you press and hold the MODE button for 3 sec, how many flashes of the red LED do you see? Only one?

If you read on down, the other thing it suggest is disconnecting the wire going to the Receiver and then running through the setup - it says that this is how you can change the MODE during a race at the track.

Interesting issue though. I have the LRP V7.1 ESC and its not like this, but it still took me a few times to get the programming right.

PD2,

I have found out the issue. I was confused in trying to select one Mode. This you can not do. You select on section from each mode to set up the ESC. Once I figured this out thanks to a PM I received on another board form W-C. All you have to do is go through each mode select the part you want then then click mode one more time and you are all set.

Thank you,
K

Wow! Didn't think it was all that complex. I guess that's why more of them are having computer wizards and handheld configurators. Glad you got it figured out!
