Can anyone tell me a rough estimate on how to judge prices of bike insurance. The bug has me, not sure what ill buy yet but something smaller to learn again on. Its been years since ive ridden.. Im trying to find out what insurance runs. Full coverage etc on like a shadow ace or 1300 or smaller end HD...

Go to www.progressive.com (http://www.progressive.com) and get a quote there. Once you fill in your information you can go back and edit the bike or coverage to change the quote. When I was looking for my bike I probably got 30 quotes from them on different bikes and types of coverage. There's other online estimates as well, do a search on google.

Rates will depend on the bike, your age, whether you own or rent, marital status, driving record, etc. A buddy of mine was getting a quote on the same bike I got and his quote was two or three times as high as mine, so rates can vary greatly.

My quote on Progressive for a 1300 Shadow Ace was $330 a year.

Ballins was the cheapest for me they search for the best price. They found a better price than I could calling all the others.

I have a 2005 FZ1000 (the silver fast one) I wanted the minimum liability and theft it was $60 down and $32 a month if I went with just liability it would be $80 a year and this bike is considered a sport bike.
