Hey waterspout, I replied to your email but feel like I should state my case here also. I understand and agree with the reasoning behind CPR and do not keep many large fish. Me and my boys only run lines a few weeks each year. But when they catch a gooden I like to post a "brag" picture. If someone is offended by seeing a picture of a dead fish then they should probally take up golf. I took no offense with your message and hope you dont with this one. Im just telling it like I see it. There's nothing wrong with perserving the resources but there is room to enjoy them a little too.

Surfbass,
First off nice fish. Congrats to your boys on one nice catch. If you wanted to keep him that is your right and I have no problem with people keeping a big one now and then, although the small ones eat allot better. Are you sure those boys are yours, they look nothing like you.................yeah right!!

I do not understand the reasoning behind cpr.......I do understand the price of gas and food in my ice box. Now, if someone has the money to fill my tanks and put food in my ice box then I might get a little more understanding. I will take all cash offered. Funny I have a feeling nobody is going to jump at the offer. I know right now just to run my trot lines it cost me around 10.00 to 15.00 dollars a trip (must I add my boat is on the water so that doesnt include trailering it to the lake or ramp fees). But then again, I haven't been faced with the decision. My biggest catch is a seven pounder-I need to post that. Anyway, guess you know what happens to the fish that gets my hook in their mouth, and it might let others know my place on the issue. Anyway, who wants to kiss a fish. (Guess I should mention I ve probably thrown more white bass back this year than most have caught).

Nice catch, I'd say 40+ for sure. How does a big fish like that taste compared to the smaller 10+ and under ones? Just thought it'd be a little tougher but I've never eaten one that big. Lots of meat though.

Big cats actually eat pretty good IMHO. Like any big fish you have to take a little more time to trim All the red meat off but they dont get tough like say a big Redfish. I would still rather eat a mess of crappie but thats just me. Wildman you're right about my boys. I marked them pretty good LOL.
Bueyescowboy your not joking about the price of fishing going up. I may have to start juglining out of my kayak if I can figure out how to do it without getting a hook in my @ss.

Hey I have an idea for you...when you catch a good size cat...tie a line from the jug to Kayak....then hope the cat is headed the same direction as you want to go....just a thought.
surfbass where you ever around Houston ,Tx and have you ever worked for HFD? Seems I ve seen you somewhere before. Lookin at bday's we're pretty close to the same age.
