Me and my dad went out Friday only our first spearfishing trip. I have been a few other people but I haven't every shot before and this was my dad's first trip. I missed a snapper cause I was out of range. He trying to shoot a nice Ling but he still had his gun on safety. And he got one Sheep head.

When we came up from our dive the wind had picked up plus it was raining and lighting. So called it a day and heading in.

We tried to go again on Sunday but weather didn't agree.

Michael, where were you diving ? Depth ? visibility ? current ?

On Friday we were about 30 miles out S/SE of Freeport(I have the rig # in my log book). There was no current and vis. was about 40' until about 80' were the murk started. My bottom machince keeps messing up but the bottom should have been about 100'.

On Sunday we were about about 20miles S of Freeport and the current was way to fast to dive.

I would really like to find some larger rigs, possiblly in the 20-35 miles range. Probably will have to go out of Matagorda cause there seems to be more in that range.
