Sorry to change the subject away from the Shriners race but I think we have a pretty good start and still have plenty of time to get back on that later. Since the early days of the BRT and to this day, I have allways wanted to be involved with a group of racers that are pretty involved with charitys and helping the world be a better place. Saving the world from all its problems isnt possible but its nice to know that we can help just a little. Were faced with a devastating disaster from hurricane Katrina. Due to the urgency of the disaster people need help NOW!

The 2CRT is too new and not yet organized enough to do anything really big to help out with the victims, however, some other groups are well established enough to rally the troops and have a fairly good impact. RC Pro is putting together a fund raising race. Trey at M&M and Mobility plus is running a couple of races benifiting the victims. Maybe a couple of other local tracks will step up and do the same. Maybe its not alot, but I hope we step up and do what we can.

Every little bit helps. I posted links in the Katrina Relief Fund Race to orgs to which you can donate, volunteer, etc. I have flyers for the LA Benefit race that RC Pro is doing, I'm going to take them to Hobbytown and RC Hobby in S'Land, and I'll have them at Mike's and K&M with me this weekend. Y'all that are closer to Fastrak, M&M, etc. try to print it out and get them there.

Next Sunday Trey will be hosting a Mini scale race at Moblity Plus. I hope to see the guys with Minis show up. As before, I will be providing the food and BBQing as my donation.

What time will the Sunday race start? If its late enough, I'm in. If its around lunch, I won't be able to make it.

I would have been out at the M&M race today but was out with my church helping the families at the La Quinta in Tomball until after midnight and I'm just getting up. We had BBQ and cobbler and all sorts of good stuff. Great people and awesome fellowship. Heck, most just want you to sit down and talk to them and listen to them - not necessarily about their problems and issues, but just make them feel like they are loved. One guy just hugged me and kept thanking me. The need is out there guys and we can supply it! Its gonna take everyone doing what they can with what they have. BBQ's and what not may not be your thing, but you have some gifting, talent, skill or calling that some one needs. Give it and give it freely!!

Go be a light to this dark situation!
