It's that time of year for BB Webers anual B-17 fly in at Bomber field in Monaville. It is for very very large model aircraft that fly. Not just B-17's all must be scale of the actual aircraft. There are usually real Jet turbine models as well that show up. His place is complete with a paved strip bleachers and a control tower. Minature tank battle at the close of each day. It is the weekend of Sept 17 & 18 with a raffle for a fleet biplane. This is a real blast and kids just love it. Come out and enjoy a day of fun frolics and sometimes whoopsies.

Gary, we need to fish. Alot of similar interest. I do guitars and r/c aircraft and electric r/c cars. I haven't been around the cars enought to be confortable with nitro yet. Jeff

Threw me! Is that scale or did the builder get crazy?

no, the cowling is the same on the hellcat. The hellcat has shorter squared wing tips, and the sheetmetal behind the canopy is different. It was made by Grumman. Jeff

Do you think that was a kit, or scratch built?

Do you think that was a kit, or scratch built? If it's not a kit, the builder was good!

Hellcat Was A Navy Fighter. Bull Of An AirlplaneYeah it was! It amazes me how quickly the country responded to threats back then, and with quality, simple aircraft. If not for Kelly Johnson (lockheed), grumman, and hero servicemen and women, we would be typing Japanese right now!!!

Here is a picture of a Corsair they were made By Chance Vaught and Goodyear during the war. The Hellcat was the second grumman aircraft in the cat line up. First was the Wildcat, then the Hellcat , Then the Bearcat (Americas Premier fighter). The Bearcat was produce late in the war so it saw little action and then we evolved to jets. Oh I almost forgot the Tigercat the wild & wooley twin Grumman produced.
Try and get off and we will hook up and go to this thing. Man it is a riot.
