Somehow I got lost on the lake and couldn't find my way back to Houston. Ah, here I am now with what I found when I was lost.
Generally, the white bass are biting......8 ft. depth (heddon, tube, or airplane) trailed 18 " by a pet spoon or some kind of silver spoon (cast master). The fish run in 12' to 8' but you need something to run deep. Sometimes the white bass school. I would guess the best area is around the old 190 bridge. There is a ledge by the river bottom that goes from 40' to 9'. (if you know where I am talkin about then thats where they are at). I have also done pretty good out from what use to be Franks marina on each of the points. Theres a point to the left and right try each one. PIc are below generally 30 to 40 white bass (2 people). I have limited out once by myself.
NOW MY STORY: I was out there with my dad trolling around my usual areas when here comes this pontoon boat...big ole thing. Well, the guy just almost runs over me. (Seen I was wearing out the white bass and wanted some of the action). I tell the guy "hey, the white bass are right here" showing him the area hoping he would kind of fall in line and not run over me. Look up again and here he is again about to run over me. Now, I start to lose my cool. Its ok to join me but darn don't run me over. I am just about ready to climb in the guy's boat with him and give him some drivin lessions when he pulls up next to my boat. Oh, he's askin for trouble I think to myself. Poor ole guy was lonesome and just wanted someone to talk to. Now my dad loves to talk, so they just hit it right off. Long story short, the guy showed me one of his trot lines and let me bait it. We met up later out by the 190 bridge and I gave him about 10 fish. He had to go home and wanted some fish to clean. I got his phone # and need to call him. Guess God works in different ways.
Of which, I asked for prayers so me and dad could fish again. Thank you all....me and dad wore them out last week and probably will be on the lake tomorrow. Its a good day when we argue a couple of times about getting tangled up (means we are catching fish).
Hope to see y'all on the lake...till next time...
